We are pleased to announce the latest enhancements to Kabeen’s data flow management capabilities. These improvements provide more detailed technical information about data flows and the ability to centralize documentation, making it easier to manage and secure your IT.

Technical details of Data flows
You can now specify the technical details of data flows, including the protocol used for exchange, data format, technical port used, and encryption. These details will soon be available in the flow diagram filters to help identify flows to implement during a Move to Cloud project or to conduct a risk analysis on unencrypted flows carrying sensitive company data.
Flow documentation
It is now possible to attach documentation to data flows. In some IT systems, flow management is centralized, orchestrated by a scheduler or an ESB (Enterprise Service Bus). These flows are industrialized, and documentation for interfaces or half-flows can now be centralized in Kabeen.

Add Flow Details

We have enhanced the "Finance" dashboard in Kabeen to allow you to project the future costs of your contracts. This feature provides a clear view of upcoming expenses related to your applications.
You can now obtain a projection of costs for licenses, subscriptions, and associated services (training, integration, etc.) for the next ten years.
In addition to the annual view, it is possible to visualize costs for each quarter and each month, offering detailed granularity of your expenses.

Usage Auto-Discovery leverages a sophisticated agent deployed on user workstations. This agent tracks application usage and, when activity is detected over recent days from any team member, Kabeen updates the "Usage" tab of the respective application. This feature allows you to see real-time application utilization across your organization, streamlining the process of monitoring and managing application engagement.
To ensure data integrity and accuracy, Usage Discovery requires administrator confirmation to validate a team's usage of an application. This step is crucial because it:
Integrates the application into the team's IT mapping, highlighting the application in user agent bookmarks.
Updates the business matrix to display the team as users of the application.
Recognizes that detected usage can be very temporary, calling for deliberate confirmation to avoid inaccuracies in reporting.
This feature strengthens your oversight by showing which teams frequently engage with specific applications. It helps in identifying key applications driving your business processes and any potential training needs or re-allocation of resources.

Tracking an application's lifecycle was one of the most anticipated features.
Each application now has a status (phase in, deployed, phase out, or decommissioned), which allows you to:
• Record applications that are under integration or development.
• Monitor decommissioning projects.
• Obtain a global view of the IT application roadmap (a feature to come!).
Without specific information, an application adopts an "active" status by default from its creation date in inventory or from its auto-discovery date if applicable.

Our latest update allows you to automatically generate a new view of your applications. The application matrix enables comparison of application usage between teams or business units according to each category.
It then becomes possible to distinguish unique usages or, conversely, redundant applications in your information system.
Like our other automatic analyses, filters are available, guiding your focus to the right place. In addition, the export of this matrix, just like the flow diagram, is natively integrated.

Introducing a new feature from Kabeen that enriches your application inventory by allowing you to attach physical documents or linked URL.
This could include diagrams, operating documents (EXD), architectural documents (SAD), and more. There's no limit to how many documents you can add to each application.
If your document is hosted in a Document Management System (DMZ) or in Web application, you can also add it in the form of a link within Kabeen. This ensures all your relevant documentation is in one place, aiding productivity, and streamlining processes.

With app auto-discovery, you can now automatically discover undocumented apps and add them to your inventory very easily.
This functionality is a real asset for companies that have to manage a large number of applications and have difficulty keeping their mapping up to date.
Indeed, auto-discovery makes it possible to detect applications that are not documented and which may cause security problems. By adding them to your Kabeen inventory, you can easily track them and update them as needed.
Our solution is based on a browser extension that analyzes the use of applications by company users anonymously and securely. Only professional applications are detected.
