Exporting inventory data

Export Kabeen inventory objects to CSV or XLSX: workstations, applications, usage and financial data

Most of your Kabeen inventory objects — workstations, applications, usage and financial data — can be exported to CSV or XLSX format. This lets you retrieve your data to rework it in a spreadsheet, feed a report or share it with a stakeholder, with no manual re-entry.

Exporting from a list

The most common export is performed directly from a list or inventory displayed on screen.

  1. Open the list you want to export (for example an inventory of applications, workstations or usage).
  2. Apply the filters you need to narrow down the displayed data.
  3. Open the actions menu (the icon).
  4. Choose Export to .CSV or Export to .XLSX.

The export reflects the active filters: only the rows matching the applied filters are included in the generated file.

Global export

For a broader export that is not limited to a single list, go to Settings > Data export. This screen lets you select the inventory objects to export and combine them into a single export.

Yearly financial export

The financial data of applications is one of the exportable inventory objects. To produce a yearly financial export:

  1. Open the list or inventory containing the financial data of applications.
  2. Apply the relevant filters, in particular the desired time axis (year).
  3. Run the export to .CSV or .XLSX from the menu.

Because the export reflects the active filters, selecting the year before exporting lets you obtain application costs for the chosen period.

Traceability and permissions

Every export is recorded in your workspace's audit log. The availability of the export command also depends on your role: if the command does not appear, your permissions do not allow it. See the Roles and permissions article to learn more.

Note: manual copy-paste from the interface into a spreadsheet is limited in volume (around 20,000 rows). For large volumes, always prefer the CSV/XLSX export.
