Roles and permissions

Understand the roles in a Kabeen workspace and the actions allowed for each member

Access to actions within a Kabeen workspace depends on the role assigned to each member. Depending on this role, certain features (editing, deletion, export, member management) are available or hidden in the interface.

The roles

Kabeen distinguishes several roles, each with a different scope:

  • Viewer : read-only access. A Viewer can view the workspace data but cannot edit or delete objects.
  • Editor : can edit the workspace data, in addition to viewing it.
  • Owner (administrator) : has the most extensive rights. The Owner can perform sensitive actions such as deleting objects, exporting, certain restricted edits, as well as managing the members and roles of the workspace.

Actions by role

The table below summarizes the actions according to role. Sensitive actions (deletion, export, role management) generally require administration rights.

"An action has disappeared from my interface"

If an icon or a command no longer appears (for example deleting an application or the export command in the inventories), this is generally normal behavior linked to your role, and not a malfunction.

The available actions are filtered according to your rights: a Viewer does not see the editing or deletion actions, and exporting generally requires administration rights.

Changing your role

To regain a missing action, ask a workspace administrator to raise your role. The administrator manages the roles of the workspace members.

Note

Managing certain email notifications (for example disabling the weekly report via the link in the email) may require an elevated role. If you are blocked, contact support.
